City Center Dental at the Rotunda is privileged to have Dr. John Burns as one of two founding and managing doctors. His 35 years of experience in providing superior dental care forms the vision of this practice - to offer outstanding dental care using leading-edge procedures while ensuring that patients are comfortable, cared for, and relaxed during their visits.
Dr. Burns received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1963 from the University of Oregon, after which he earned a Doctorate in Dental Medicine from the University of Oregon Dental School in 1967. He began his professional career with his own private dental practice before taking a sabbatical to train full-time for the 1968 Olympics to compete in the javelin competition. After returning to dentistry, he joined the Naismith Dental Group of Oakland, the oldest group dental practice in California. He spent the following 34 years there, as it evolved from a private to a corporate practice.

Dr. Burns brings his reputation as an active member of the California dental community, as well as his special interest in laser procedures, to City Center Dental at the Rotunda . He is particularly skilled in the treatment and healing of soft tissues of the mouth using the latest advancements in laser technology.
Having enjoyed the many benefits and camaraderie that a private dental group brings, Dr. Burns envisioned starting his own state-of-the-art dental practice. After careful consideration, the newly renovated and historic Rotunda building was chosen as the ideal location for City Center Dental Spa. Its architectural excellence and location within the City Center reflects Dr. Burns' own commitment to dental excellence.
Ensuring that his mission for the practice would be integrated at all levels by the professional staff of City Center Dental at the Rotunda , Dr. Burns was firm in the belief that the other founding doctor of the practice would need to exemplify the elements that shaped his vision. He was therefore very pleased to recruit Dr. William Castillo.
Dr. Burns offers his patients a commitment to state-of-the-art dentistry and a superior dental care experience. He is very pleased to be opening this exciting new private-group practice, City Center Dental at the Rotunda, where all patients will truly experience Future Dentistry Today.
City Center Dental at the Rotunda is privileged to have Dr. William Castillo as an associate dentist at the practice. His eight years of experience in providing superior dental care make him an exceptional fit for the vision and goals of this practice - to offer outstanding dental care using leading-edge procedures while ensuring that patients are comfortable, cared for, and relaxed during their visits.
Dr. Castillo completed his professional education and training at the National Autonomous University in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, in 1996. He received his license from the Dental Boards of Honduras and began his career as a dentist working for the Honduran air force. In 1997, Dr. Castillo relocated to the United States. While completing the licensing requirements for the State of California, he worked at the oral surgery offices of Jonker, Northrop, and Van Wagenen, rated among the top oral surgery offices in the state of California. There he obtained an in-depth knowledge of restorative and surgical implant procedures. After completing the California licensing requirements, Dr. Castillo worked as an associate dentist at two Fresno area practices: first at the corporate offices of Bright Now Dental, and then at the private practice of Dr. Rod Kellog. In 2003, he brought his skills to the bay area, where he was recruited and hired by City Center Dental Spa.
Dr. Castillo has practiced dentistry both inside and outside of the United States. He has worked in many capacities in dentistry from hygienist to dental assistant to dentist. He has worked in both corporate environments and private practices in both staff and management positions. He is trained in the latest state-of-the-art dental techniques, including laser, implant, and CEREC technologies. Above all, his greatest strength is his focus on his patients' needs. Dr. Castillo's approachable manner puts his patients immediately at ease. He takes the time to give each patient a detailed and easy-to-understand explanation of his or her particular dental situation and treatment options. Dr. Castillo is also happy to speak in his native Spanish to any patients who prefer so.
William's commitment to providing his patients with exceptional service and outstanding dental care is second-to-none.
